How it all started
Africa Arise and Shine Initiative, known as Africa Arise is an International Christian gathering launched in August 2000 in Kigali, Rwanda, with the aim of awakening Africans on the continent and the diaspora to raise, live Christ-Centered lives and play their pivotal roles in the spiritual, social and economic transformation of this beautiful continent of Africa.

Africa Arise and Shine At Glimpse
The Africa Arise and Shine conference was initiated by the Authentic Word Ministry/ Zion Temple Celebration Centre under the leadership of Apostle Dr Paul Gitwaza. Africa Arise and Shine was part of the mandate given by the Lord after the national repentance activities carried out by the Church of Rwanda in aftermath of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. According to God's vision, Rwanda would become an incubator to rebirth a new and transformed Africa.
Life Beyond The Conference
Africa Arise and Shine envisions a continent where the conference's impact extends far beyond a week-long event, becoming a way of life that influences individuals, communities, and nations. It seeks to demonstrate God's transformative power and serves as a testimony of what He can accomplish on the African continent.
By embracing this vision, Africans can participate in the spiritual, social, and economic transformation of Africa, making Jesus Christ known and ruler over all spheres of influence.
